News about smallest sized DSLR camera made by Canon seems to be true. It is EOS 100D, the name of the world smallest camera that officially introduced by the company on Thursday March 21th,2013 several days ago.
The camera that in the United States sold under the name “Rebel SL1 ‘is claimed to be the smallest and lightweight DSLR camera”. With Physical dimensions 117x91x69mm, and weighs 407 grams including the battery.
EOS 100D 25 percent smaller and 28 percent lighter than one of his predecessors, the EOS 650D, which was launched in the mid of 2012 last year.
Inside it, the EOS 100D features an APS-C 18 megapixels sensor with an ISO sensitivity range of 100-12800 and DIGIC 5 processor. 3 inches screen measures and supports touchscreen input. Camera with 4 FPS burst rate also features 9-point AF system all-cross-type like the EOS 650D.
One of the main advantages highlighted by the Canon EOS 650D is continuous AF ability in video with contrast and AF phase detect combination on “Hybrid CMOS AF II” sensor. EOS 100D is scheduled to be available in April 2013 with retail prices of $ 650 USD for a body-only version and $ 800 USD for kit version with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5- 5.6 IS STM lens. EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens itself can be purchased separately for $ 250 USD.
At the same time, Canon also introduced the EOS 700D. The EOS 650D successor which has similar specifications to its predecessor’s, includes 18 megapixel sensor (ISO 100-12800), Digic 5 processor, 3-inch swivel LCD touchscreen, 5 FPS burst rate, and all-cross-type 9-point AF.
EOS 700D will be available in April 2013 at a price of $ 750 USD for body-only version. $ 900 USD for a kit version with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, and $ 1,100 USD for kit version with EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens.
