From supply chain sources shows that the aggressive pricing on MeMO Pad tablet has a strong pressure on Asus competitors  especially the white-box vendors, which may begin to be phased out from the market in the first half of 2014.

Through Memo Pad 7, 8 and 10 inches, Asus had shipped total of 12 million tablets in 2013 and it was the second largest of non-Apple tablet vendor. However, because of the low price, Asus tablet product line contributes limited advantage only.

In the first half of 2014, Asus sent 6.1 million  tablets and didn’t make a profit from this business line. For 2014, Asus tablet shipments are expected to fall to 10.7 million units.

Some retailers are predicting that the new Asus 7-inch Memo Pad tablet which is priced around $ 100 USD will make some impacts on the demand of the competitors tablet such as Acer, Lenovo, LG, Micro-Star International (MSI) and Huawei.

This tablet will also be available in Southeast Asian and Chinese markets in the near future. MeMO Pad 7 ME70CX Z2520 will featuring the Intel Atom processor, dual cameras, 8 GB internal storage and will have long battery life, approximately will stand around eight hours.

Asus will also be the biggest supporter of Intel processors in the mobile device market. Asustek now is expected to sell 8 million ZenFone and more than 5 million MeMO Pad tablet in 2014, which is powered with Intel processor.
